Texas Smokers is the creation of Mitch McCutcheon who, along with some good friends, started a BBQ cookoff team in 2008. After several cookoffs with limited success, he came up with the first recipe for Texas Smokers BBQ Rub.
With this new recipe in place, the team began to have some success, winning ribs at first followed quickly by brisket. Over time the recipe has been tweaked and modified, building on the depth and flavor of that original blend.
In 2022, and after much demand from fans of his cooking, Mitch decided it was time to offer his signature BBQ Rub to the general public so they could make their own tasty creations at home. Based on the success of the original Texas Smokers BBQ Rub, Mitch went back to the kitchen and developed the new "Texas Smokers Steak Shake", which will be available in mid-2023. Texas Smokers EPIC Chili is now in the test kitchen, so stay tuned for a release date. Future products will include poultry and seafood seasonings and BBQ and steak sauces.
All Texas Smokers products never include harmful preservatives or high fructose corn syrup. They are gluten free and non-GMO because, as Mitch is always saying, "I believe that we have far too many chemicals in most of our processed foods that we don't need and are bad for our bodies."
Also, our products are "lite" in salt content because "YOU CAN ALWAYS ADD SALT, BUT YOU CAN'T TAKE IT AWAY." If you want more salt, just add the amount you desire.
